Some of you may know that I used to serve in the US Army.  Anybody who knows a military veteran knows that you can take the soldier (sailor/ airman/ marine) out of the military, but you can't take the military out of the person!

Even though my tours of duty are past, I still appreciate and support our guys and gals serving in uniform.  After all, it's not easy being away from home and family, living in a barracks, and eating industrial food!

Here are a couple of things I do for our troops:

First of all, part of every subscription I sell here on Southern Charms is donated to the USO.  They are a fantastic organization which, since before WWII, has been providing entertainment and hospitality to our troops, especially those who are traveling and who are serving overseas. 

Second, for my members who are current or veteran military, please just drop me an e-mail and let me know.  I have some special photo sets just for you!

Third, I plan to begin a series of poster-type pic tures reminiscent of WWII pin-up and recruiting posters, to encourage membership in Veteran service organizations, like the American Legion and the VFW. If you belong to one of these organizations and either need recruiting posters or have other suggestions, please again let me know.
